Will have to wait another month or so to get it serviced/repaired though.The VX I from VOX takes modeling amps to the next level. My friend sold this one to me for less than what a brand new C2 costs, on the basis that it is a bit worse for wear cosmetically and does need a little bit of work to get it into fully working order (vib/trem channel sounds kinda fuzzy and the effect is choppy, and the power amp section seems to have lost a bit of power and headroom). So really, I just had to try to get an original JMI for a reasonable price, or just not get one. I'd wanted an AC30 for years but the chinese korg era ones never quite did it for me, and the "clones" or other derivatives offered by other manufacturers which were a little more true to the vintage spec and construction seemed unreasonably expensive. there's a uniquely organic interactivity between the "input" from your hands to the guitar and the output you hear from the speaker, which is somehow different to most other amps - you don't just hear it, you really feel it as well, that's part of the experience of playing through an old Vox amp which makes them a real joy to play through (or a real ball-buster, if you suck). but the circuitry is mostly original and it sounds really great.
